The project consortium is very well balanced with an ideal mixture of academic research, applied research and industrial partners of all sizes whilst at the same time combining an optimum balance of nationalities and cultures.

In the map below the distribution of the SOMABAT partners is marked clearly in green. The consortium consists of 13 partners from 9 European countries and two of them from emerging  EU countries. Among the Industrial partners, three of them are large International Companies. The variety of countries taking part in the project is considered as an additional benefit. This is a guarantee that research to be developed will lead to a common approach and ensures that the issues of the different regions of Europe countries are considered as a whole.

In summary, the following criteria will prove particularly supportive for the overall project success:

  • Good combination of academic and applied research in combination with industry partners to ensure high quality of research as well as dissemination and exploitation of the results.

  • All partners have prior experience in international collaboration on research projects.

  • Competencies from multiple domains to cover the different research aspects of SOMABAT.

  • Involvement of battery manufacturing companies in the project to help build up their relationships in order to improve their business and collaborate on EU progress in the development of future battery markets and technologies.

In order to receive feedback on the technical progress of the project and to maintain the awareness for dissemination to the relevant stakeholders form the industrial area, an Industrial Users Group has been set up. This User Group will attend the Workshops concerning the SOMABAT project or other related events during the course of the project.
