University of Kiev

Kiev National University of Technology & Design (KNUTD) separated from the Kiev Polytechnic Institute in 1930 and is presently a well-known scientific and educational centre not only in Ukraine but even beyond the country. KNUTD has presently more than 6.000 students, 7 faculties, and 32 departments. There are about 550 scientists and teachers in the staff, more than 150 post-graduate students and Ph.D. students. In the University the specialists are trained (included Bachelors, Specialist and Master degree) in 20 specialties (some of them have up to 10 specializations). The Department of Electrochemical Power Engineering & Chemistry of KNUTD is the only University Department in the Ukraine, which is specialized in educating the specialists in the field of Electrochemical Power Engineering. The department has 3 professors, 10 docents and PhD, 5 young assistants and PhD students.

The Department of Electrochemical Power Engineering & Chemistry teaches students and carries out corresponding R & D in the areas of Li and Li-ion batteries, air-metal batteries, supercapacitors, fuel cells, as well as other objects of modern electrochemical technology.
